if so an inline 6 still a nice engine...if not probably still an inline 6 since it is a 3 series (nothing wrong with that but just stating)
that being said the Cayman will still turn more heads, but the Audi is probably a more all around car more space...

i am 17 and i drive a 2007 porsche cayman S...so i obviously push speed limit every chance i get...i have a radar detector but it didnt detect this cop today...so im going 115-120 mph in a 50 mph...he pulls me over and just says to be more careful...he didnt give me a ticket for going 65 over...i thought my liscense was gone for sure...i mean im a teen driving a black porsche cayman S with tinted windows and the music blaring out of my 20 in. subs...please tell me why he didnt give me a ticket

Q: 2007 Porsche Cayman Burning Smell?
Hi,
I just purchased a 2007 New Porsche Cayman with under 100 miles, this is a stick shift (5 speed). After driving back from the dealership, I noticed a strong odor from the car - like a burning smell. Is this normal? Also, between 2000-3000 RPM on 1st, 2nd and 3rd I hear a higher pitched gear noise (like a whine), is this normal?
BTW: I dont believe that I am riding the clutch
A: Honestly there is not enough information here for me to give you a direct answer. My suggestion to you is take it back to the dealership since its brand new and under warrenty. Without smelling the odor myself I can not tell you what it is. Generally, NO, there should not be a burning smell, not even during break-in, so dont let the dealer tell you other wise.. Most clutches smell a certain way when "slipped"...I am not sure if you know this smell or not. Simply, a burning smell is never normal in any car situation, especially a cayman. As for the whine, again, would have to hear it, but where is this noise coming from? What model of Cayman do you have? The dealer will identify and fix the issue for free...go that route as I would say something is wrong/ not as its suppost to be. Good luck and congrats on your new Cayman!
