Q: Porsche Cayman S: Shift at how many RPM?
At how many RPM does the automatic transmission of the 2006 Cayman S shift gears and what is suggested for health and what for best performance of the car?
Thanks!
A: Just about every car in automatic shifts at or around 3,000 rpm.
If you accelerate faster, it shifts later on.
For performance, you are supposed to go up to the redline, but not passed the redline, which I think is around 7200rpm in the Cayman S.
Q: Which of these 3 cars would you rather have?
Mercedes Benz SLK (AMG)

The tuning companies are:
-Strosek

You could go to their websites and order the supercharger from there. Expect it to cost more than $2500.
Q: 2006 Porsche Cayman S - Does it play Mp3 CD's?
Hi!
Whenever I insert a CD containing mp3's only the radio says "STOP". Does it not play mp3 CDs?
Thanks!
What do you mean by std fit? I have the standart CD player (Not the changer) with the Bose sound system in a '06 cayman s.
A: Do you have the std fit? Mine certainly doesn't play them but I think the latest models do.
Q: As an avid Porsche follower the 2006 Cayman S tickles my fancy, but would there ever be a cabrio version?
A: the boxster is essentially the cabrio caymen. The "caymen does have a very slightly different platform though (its closer to a 911 with its engine/tranny switched around the rear axel)."
No, no, no. The platform is the same, the structure of the cars aren't.
There probably won't be a Cayman Cabrio, and the Boxster isn't a Cabrio unless you get the Cab version. The Boxster is a roadster, in other words, it had no full-time top when it came out. The top would usually be down more than up, unless you want it up. Picture it though, a Cayman Cabriolet would look EXACTLY like a Boxster, since the Caymans structure is different towards the top, due to supporting the car, why would you make another Boxster?
By the way. The structures are different than you think. The Boxster actually weighs MORE than the Cayman, because the Cayman is more like a regular car, hence hardtop, they don't need more support in the lower half of the car, like the Boxster with no top. Make any sense? If you're still not sure, I recommend TheAutobahn.com, a great place to learn and discuss Porsches.
