Q: Now i own a 2004 Porsche Boxster S with 42K miles on it. I have to leave it parked & undriven for 3 months due
to i have some work to do overseas.
What should i do for my car so when i get back it won't be a problem that i parked it undriven for 3 months ?
A: Some of the answers her have been good, like disconnecting the battery. I had to park my car for three months when I was deployed, you may want to change your oil and add "slick 50" oil additive. This bonds to metallic areas like the cylinder walls. This will prevent a harsh metal-on-metal start up due to the residual lubrication remaining in these cylinder walls. It will also assist in keeping your valves from sticking after your car has sat for a while. I hope this helps and have a safe trip!
Q: Is Kelly's Blue book gives the right price?I bought my 2004 Porsche Boxster S for a lot more than Kelly'sbook
I bought it new with all options(almost). It has navigation, tiptronic, Metallic black with red full leather inter., full aluminum package, aerokit,....& more.
I paid 79K.
I drove it 3 years ,has 42k miles , excellent condition (like new) & kelly's book give it 39K value.
It's even still has the new smell on it & Porsche could go way over 150k miles without any problem.
Why is Kelly's book give low price ?
A: Where to start?
Porsche is one of those manufacturer that makes you pay for just about every option. Sure you can get a base Boxter S for $55K but you will pay $80K for a "fully loaded" one. Non-believers: go ahead and "build your Porsche" on porsche.com/usa. Porsche has lots of options that most other manufacturers don't for example $25K worth of options for your Bosxter S. KBB, N.A.D.A., and Edmunds credit very little when it comes to options. You will never get that $25K worth of options back if you sell or trade your vehicle.
Q: Would u trade in a 2004 Porsche Boxster S(42k miles) for a brand new Mazda MX-5 Miata or a new Honda S2000?
no...i will never trade in my Porsche 4 any other car but Porsche.
I'm just asking " IF "..u would trade in
A: I would not. I never saw the point of buying a new car when a used car that is 10x nicer can be had for the same value.
then again, I do work on my own cars.
Miata would be if finances were tight (id buy a slightly used one though).
S2000 id say nay too.
Id prefer to trade it in on an 01 or so 911 (can be had around that price). Thats best deal IMO.
And Miatas are more reliable than S2000s. theyre pretty much the most reliable sports car ever made.
Q: What's voltage of 2004, 2005 Porsche Boxster?
A: 12 volt. 1964/65 - 356 C's were the last of the 6 volt cars Porsche made.
Q: Hi, How much is the Car Tax for a Porsche Boxster S, 3.2l, 2004 model?
A: If you worry about the tax, you may not like the sticker price.
remember its what you negotiate.
estimate ~ 7.5% sales tax + any VAT or luxury taxes.
I paid $3600 in tax and another $800 for luxury tax in CA
total $4400

Q: Any good tips from a Porsche owner in how to maintain & take care of my Boxster S to run smooth & trouble free
I own a 2004 Boxster S. Bought it used & had one owner before me who kept it in excellent condition. It has 37000 miles on its odometer.Need someone who knows what he talking about & give me good tips . Thanks !!!
A: just keep up with the maitenance, and use mobile 1 or royal purple in your oil changes. Basically, you take care of the car, itll take care of you. a porsche's reliablility REALLY reflects its owners care usually. A well maintained one will last ages. an abused one will last a damned long time for an abused car, but not ages.
Q: Does the warranty includes the changing of the distrubition chain & all the plastic components in the engine ?
...PLUS the Tun up ??? It is a 2004 Porsche Boxster S with 42K miles on it & i still have the manifacture warranty, but i don't know if those things are included in the warranty or i have to pay for them to get them done as normal wear & tear ???
The warranty is up to 50K,
A: Tune-ups & preventive maintenance are not covered by warranty. Warranty on the engine usually covers items bathed in oil. Consult the information supplied with the vehicle for a full explanation.

Q: how to operate a car with manual transmission?
ok so i was looking at a 2004 Porsche Boxster that i was thinking of buying in 2010/2011. Thing is, its manual transmission. so does that mean ill have to use a stick shift? im 16 btw. like thats fine with me i can learn how to use that. gears 1-6. but i mean how do i switch between D,R,N, Park, all those? are those all on the same stick. because i was browsing online and i only saw one big stick in the middle, nothing else, so im assuming on that stick its got like 10 different settings. like this:
Park
Neutral
Reverse
Drive
1
2
3
4
5
6
and thats it, right?
A: For a 3 gear man. transmission, step on the clutch, shift into first gear, when the cars starts to get around 20mph hit the clutch and shift to 2nd gear, when you get to 30mph and above hit the cutch and shift to 3rd gear. You continue to drive in 3rd gear as long as your speed is 30 or above, or otherwise clutch and downshift to a lower gear. Basically that is it.
Q: Out of these two cars, which car would you buy for $20,000 and why?
year: 2003
make: Porsche Boxster S
transmission: Tiptronic-S
vs.
year: 2004
make: BMW 330Ci Coupe
transission: SMG
package: Performance
A: Porsche
